What will take place?

You will work with a group of up to 15 people to learn the basics in proper flagstone and dry stack wall installation. This is a 5 day event. Each day will start with breakfast and a meet and greet. This will allow us to get set up and review the days agenda. We will work from 9am-12pm and then break for a lunch that we will provide. We will resume work approximately at 12:45 and continue until 4pm on each day. This will be inside in a warehouse space. The feature is temporary and will be torn down to prepare for the next class.

What will you receive?

Each participant will receive personalized hands-on training in a group setting from Robert Molinet, aka The Backyard Expert. You will learn the basic points of dry stone working as well as several key details that will help you ensure success once you leave the training. You will also receive:

  • Breakfast and lunch each day

  • Personal Protective Equipment for the tasks at hand

  • 25 hours of group training over 4 days, 1 flex day of coaching based on the groups needs.

  • Small group sizes limited to 16 total participants

  • The basics of dry laid flagstone installation

  • The basics of dry stack wall building

  • The basics of creating interactive spaces in outdoor living design

  • Access to Robert’s team in the future for support of questions and design considerations

  • A new skill that will help you separate your company from the pack

  • Network with other like minded craftspeople

What do you need to know?

We will do our best to answer any questions and concerns before each event. Here are some basic considerations.

  • This will be a hands on exercise. You will get dirty. Bring a change of clothes, socks, shoes, etc.

  • We will be cutting material using water. If you intend to do any cutting it is suggested you bring along Muck boots, and if possible rain gear bottoms. We will have limited number of pairs on site.

  • This will require heavy lifting (50lbs) and repetitive motions associated with masonry and stone work.

  • You will not be asked to do anything you are not comfortable doing.

  • This will be at an open and active facility. Please no pets or children.
